The Scientific Undergraduate Research Journal at UCSB

Mission

We are the Scientific Undergraduate Research Journal at UCSB. Our mission is to foster scientific communication within a diverse community of undergraduate scholars, spanning a wide range of academic subjects and personal backgrounds. We aim to establish a quarterly journal with a dynamic ecosystem of editors, reviewers, and expert advisors. We will be hosting several workshops to guide students towards writing their first paper and publishing them on our online papers. Find out how to submit your papers here and sign up to get involved today here.

Call for Papers - Fall 2024

We are currently accepting the following manuscripts for review: (1) original research papers, (2) rapid communications, (3) review papers, (4) perspectives. Since we are a broad scientific journal, we are accepting submissions in physical sciences (e.g., chemistry, physics), life sciences (e.g., biology), applied sciences (e.g., electrical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering), and data science (e.g., computer science, statistics).

Format Guidelines

Since we are in the initial stages of establishing this journal, we will not enforce a strict formatting guide. However, we require that all references and the bibliography adhere to the formatting guidelines of Nature. In-text citations must be referenced with a superscript number. Here are some examples of bibliographic entries.
